Summer Reading List -- Tareas de Verano

One of my favorite things as a kid was when my teacher would pass out the list of books that were recommended reading for the summer. I was a bookworm anyway, so I usually had them all read by the end of July. Don’t worry, I’m not going to assign books to busy parents over the summer! However, I would love to invite you to familiarize yourself with our PTA website this summer, which will, like the PTA itself, reflect the changes we’re going to try for next year. Open, straightforward and easy to find information - how to volunteer for a committee, what fundraisers the PTA has planned, when events are taking place, and most importantly, where to go if you have questions - it’ll be there. 
And now, some acknowledgements - we’ve done a great deal of amazing things together this year, and still have some left to do - EOG snack carts, Paw Patch, Field Day and 5th Grade Celebrations still ahead. Get the kids excited for a new GaGa ball pit, we’ll need parent volunteers to install it this summer. YES, PTA WILL DO THAT! With your help! Thank you to the Board, to the committee heads, the volunteers, faculty, staff, admins. Cary Elementary is a wonderful school because of all you do. See you in August!

Una de mis cosas favoritas como estudiante era cuando mi maestra pasaba la lista de libros que se recomendaban leer durante el verano. Yo era un ratón de biblioteca de todos modos, así que por lo general los tenía todos leídos a finales de julio. ¡No se preocupe, no voy a asignar libros a padres ocupados durante el verano! Sin embargo, me encantaría invitarlo a familiarizarse con nuestro sitio web de la PTA este verano, que, al igual que la propia PTA, refleja los cambios que intentaremos para el próximo año. Información clara, directa y fácil de encontrar: cómo ser voluntario para un comité, qué eventos de recaudación de fondos ha planeado la PTA, cuándo se llevarán a cabo los eventos y, lo que es más importante, adónde ir si tiene preguntas: ahí estará.
Y ahora, algunos reconocimientos: hemos hecho muchas cosas increíbles juntos este año y aún nos quedan algunas por hacer: los carritos de refrescos EOG, Paw Patch, Field Day y las celebraciones de quinto grado aún están por venir. Haga que los niños se entusiasmen con una nueva área de pelota GaGa, necesitaremos padres voluntarios para instalarla este verano. ¡SÍ, LA PTA HARÁ ESO! ¡Con tu ayuda! Gracias a la Junta, a los jefes de los comités, a los voluntarios, a la facultad, al personal, a los administradores. Cary Elementary es una escuela maravillosa por todo lo que hacen. ¡Nos vemos en agosto!
