Who Should Join?

All are welcome: immediate family of Cary Elementary students, grand-parents and extended family, friends and mentors, anyone who is interested in being a positive force in a student's life.

What does the PTA do?

So, so much. Our largest expense every year is teacher grants. We host major and smaller events throughout the year to support these programs and offer fun and enriching experiences for students.

Do I have to be a member to participate?

Not at all! Everyone is welcome to join us for any event or PTA General Meeting. Come and meet other Cary Elementary parents and get involved in anything that sparks your interest. 

Do I have to volunteer or commit to more donations if I join?

Nope, joining doesn't obligate you to do anything further, but we hope to see you at an Event (those are fun) or a Meeting (those are inspiring). 

Why should I join the PTA?

• Support Your Child:
  • When you join the PTA, you will be automatically engaged in the conversations and events happening at school, and you'll be able to directly contribute to the quality of your child's education.
  • Moreover, when your child watches you interact with school staff and other families about things that aren't directly about them, you are reinforcing that spirit of community, civic-mindedness, and shared purpose that is so important for their growth.
• Support teachers and staff: Joining the Cary Elementary School PTA is an easy way to support all of the wonderful programs provided to our students by our PTA. A small portion of your contribution ($4) pays for the state and national dues. The rest of your donation stays in our school to support our programs.
• All dues/donations are tax deductible.
• You get a voice at all PTA General Membership Meetings. And, joining the PTA doesn't just stop at Cary Elementary School, your voices go all the way to our local and national government! When there are issues here, in North Carolina, or in Washington DC that deal with our children's rights, having a large membership base enables our PTA representatives to cast a strong vote.
• Check out discounts offered as part of your National PTA Member benefits
• Get signed up for PTA communications and emails so that you know when the fun stuff is coming up.​
