Cultural Arts
Cultural arts programs are provided by professional teaching artists and make possible alternative methods of delivery for curriculum. This helps support a broad range of learning styles and inspire long-term creativity.
CES PTA works with the United Arts Council to provide workshops for 4th and 5th grade, along with one school wide performance. Other grades have various cultural arts and enhancements picked by the PTA Cultural Arts Committee & Curriculum Enhancement chair and CES staff. In past years, programs have included Drum for Change, Science Safari, STEM Activities.

The CES PTA is thrilled to bring more opportunities for in-person experiences with community artists. As events and workshops are announced, we will post details here.

Note to Parent Volunteers

Please check with your child's teacher if you are planning to volunteer or attend a Cultural Arts event. Some of the events depend on having a few volunteers. Others do not require help and do not have adequate room for guests. Thank you so much for your interest in supporting this program.

Thank you to the United Arts Council

Many of these special events are funded by grants from the United Arts Council's (UAC) Artists in Schools program. Artists in Schools grants are intended to help schools hire professional teaching artists to offer curriculum-based arts instruction for students in a K-12 setting and take place during the school day. Approximately 150 charter, public and private schools participate each year. See the school guidelines here.

Thank you to the Cary Arts Center

The Cary Arts Center has graciously offered to host two of our Cultural Arts Programs: "Read and Bloom" and "Drum For Change". We are grateful and proud to have such meaningful partners in supporting creative learning as the staff at the Cary Arts Center.
