Passive Fundraising

What is Passive Fundraising?

Cary Elementary PTA partners with local businesses and national retail stores so that supporters like you to earn rebates that go directly to the PTA after you make purchases. The bottom line is:
  • You link Cary Elementary PTA to a shoppers' card or app (see details below).
  • You buy things you were probably going to buy anyway (like dinner).
  • The Business sends Cary Elementary PTA a percentage of the money you gave them (often 5%).
No additional spending is required – just make your regular online or in-store purchases and a percentage of your total goes directly to the PTA. It’s so easy; just set up accounts with the options below that fit your life, and you are good to go!

Why Passive Fundraising?

The Cary Elementary PTA is an all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to supporting our administration, our staff and educators and enriching their kids’ school experience in any way we can.

Just some of the ways we do this: teacher’s wish list fulfillment, Book Stop, Cultural Arts programs, Grounds Crew (Paw Patch, Ground clean up, Ground cover/mulch), Hospitality (once a month staff meals), the huge Media Center Update, fun events like Trunk or Treat and Talent Show - and so much more!

We do this all without taking anything from school funds. Fundraising is therefore something we need to do and we’ve tried to make this as easy as possible for grown-ups. The easiest possible way to do this is by Passive Fundraising!

More linked VIC cards mean higher earning potential. As in previous years, parents, friends and family members must re-link each year in August to ensure their continued support for their child's school.

Customers can link their VIC card on the Harris Teeter website or app, or simply ask a cashier to link their card to Cary Elementary School using the code 7441.
